Many clients wonder what they should do with their holiday chiropractic office hours. Well, whether or not you want to keep your chiropractic hours over the holidays is up to you. However, I think it’s important to be aware of the value of taking time off.
In my experience, the vast majority of chiropractors tend to work too much. They often don’t actually follow their own advice and slow down themselves. This is an opportunity to unplug for a brief period of time.
This is true for both you and your team. As you approach the 25th of December, think about not just yourself but your team members as well. One useful strategy when setting chiropractic office hours is to work backwards from the 25th to make sure that you’re giving your staff the time they need to ease into the holiday season.
It’s important to simply trust in the value of rest and recuperation. Your chiropractic hours this holidays should allow rest to be a priority. In fact, one mentor of mine who tracks the time he takes off has noticed a clear trend: the more time he takes off in a year, the more his business grows.
Yes, keeping your chiropractic office open over the holidays gives you the chance to connect with patients that you might not normally encounter. But give yourself a chance to recharge. Don’t just try and slog through as many appointments as you can. Keep in mind that you can always change your chiropractic hours during this time.
There is ultimately no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. But in my experience, when you trust in life and the energy that rest brings you, you’ll be able to give so much more.
