Even in the middle of a crisis, or perhaps especially during a crisis, you can do a lot of introspection. As the Nobel laureate Paul Romer says, “A crisis is a terrible thing to waste.” In other words, the experience of having to face a challenge can often lead to wonderful transformations.
This is an opportunity to go within and look for answers. By embracing the importance of reflection, you can gain clarity. This is a chance to ask those questions that you haven’t had time to ask before. What inspires you? What do you value? The answers to these questions will help you create a vision of success.
Regardless of the vision you come up with, it should not be based on what people have told you to do. In order to find what truly inspires you, you need to tune out all those other voices that aren’t your own.
Everyone has something special to share with the world. These things can sometimes be turned into products or services that can help others. But it’s important to stay in your lane and stick to what inspires you. The importance of reflection is that it will show you the path that’s right for you. Then it’s up to you to follow your vision of success.
