Why do you tend to procrastinate?

Why don’t you follow through?

Why do you put off the things you KNOW you can do to get ahead in business and begin to live the life you deserve?

It all comes down to one thing:

A lack of confidence – in your products, your services, and yourself.

It’s not a question of whether or not this is true for you, it’s a question more of what to do about it…
The solution to this is to quiet that voice inside your head that says things like:

  • “I’m not good enough”
  • “I’m not pretty enough”
  • “I’m not creative enough”
  • “I’m not rich enough”

I call this voice…

The Inner Asshole.

Think about it, if you talked to your best friend the way you talk to yourself, they wouldn’t continue to be your best friend, would they?

That’s because we are so hard on ourselves, this little voice in our head is such a butthole to us… constantly trying to bring us down.

In this video, I’ll be sharing the two cures for quieting the negative self-talk and growing your business.

In order to quiet the Inner Asshole, we need to identify what it is that activates the inner asshole.

After over twenty years of chiropractic coaching, I’ve figured out the two things that commonly trigger this negative self-talk.

The first one is…

1. Comparison Ourselves To Someone Else

We all have people we look up to – parents, role models, authority figures… these are the people that helped shape us into the person we are today, and/or the person we want to be someday.

By default, we tend to buy into their values, and as a result of that, we bought into their goals and priorities in their life.

Then we compare ourselves to this standard that someone else’s priorities and accomplishments are where we should be, which triggers that voice inside our head that tells us we aren’t “enough”.

… we don’t have as much juice, drive, and desire as they do to strive for and accomplish these things because we’re not them!

As a result, you lose your confidence and your ability to forge your own path and grow your practice YOUR way, in your ideal, chasing your own definition of success.

So STOP comparing yourself to other people!

We all want success – but we all define it differently and therefore we all have to take a different path to get there.

Listen for words in your vocabulary like “should”, “need to”, “ought to”, “have to” because these are usually examples of incongruent behaviour caused by comparison to others.

The second thing that triggers the Inner Asshole is…

2. Comparing Ourselves To Things & Ideals

The marketing and advertising community has done an amazing job of making us believe that we should want certain material things and a certain lifestyle in order to “be successful”.

All this does is subjugate ourselves to someone else’s ideals and definition of success, and it diminishes our own internal confidence in who we are and what we want.

The answer is to identify and then quiet the Inner Asshole.

The only way to know if your actions, beliefs, and behaviour is authentic to who you are and what you want, or if it’s just a blend of other people’s influence on who you think you are and what you think you want is to…

Create the time to stop and do the introspective work it takes to get clear on your core values, and then look at the goals and priorities that are congruent with that.

The last thing you want is to grind through your best years in creating “success” and then find out that it’s not congruent with your core values and not fulfilling. At least if you’re living each and every day intentionally through your own core values, you’ll be fulfilled even before the financial success component kicks in.
