What do you really want?
I’m often surprised by how many of our coaching clients don’t know what they really want. People who are struggling or floundering… when on the outside they look like they have their stuff together!
One of the docs who recently joined as a coaching client had everything. She had a successful practice, well educated, athletic, amazing spouse, and more. From the outside it looked awesome but inside she was struggling.
She was lost.
Every goal she thought she wanted to accomplished, she had. Sadly it left her feeling unfulfilled and a little bit empty.
Like so many, she came to us because she had attracted so much chaos in her life. The chaos is there to keep the spark alive and make us feel alive because inside we feel unfulfilled or dead.
It does not have to be this way! I’m going to share with you how you can correct this problem!
How to find out what you really really really want in life.
The story above is very common in the coaching world.
How do people keep losing their spark and feeling bored with their lives?
Why do we subconsciously create chaos to feel more alive?
The answer is always the same.
These people have bought into someone else’s dreams, someone else’s values and the goals and priorities that come from that.
They set goals based on someone else’s values. These are not end goals, they are goals that are tied to something else (if, then, what) or what we call “So Goals”.
“I do this so I can get that.”
“I went to college so I could get a good job.”
“I got married so I could make my parents happy.”
It’s a goal that is tied to something else. What you are chasing is the piece that is attached to the thing that you THINK you want. This is what makes it so unsatisfying and unrewarding once you achieve it.
How can you find out what you really really really want?
Get crystal clarity about your values. Set your dreams, goals and priorities from that.
For example:
I want to increase my number of patients to 300 a week. Why? Because I have an intrinsic value of contribution and service to humanity.
The contribution and exchange that you will get out of that goal will light your fires up! A nice byproduct of this will likely be your income going up but that’s not the goal.
If you focused just on making the money you would likely be disappointed. The money is making this SO I can go on vacation, retire, etc.
The KEY is getting crystal clarity about what is intrinsically valuable to YOU.
Take a hard look at your career and practice and figure out whether you are getting fulfillment out of these or not. I can tell you if it is a “So Goal” you will not be getting the fulfillment, joy or prosperity that you could be.
If so, reach out to us!

Most people don’t get what they want because they don’t know what they want.
Meaning they don’t make as much money as they would like to.
They work too long and too hard… and are STILL underpaid.
They don’t have time for their kids, their spouse… they feel guilty for sacrificing family time to give more to a practice that isn’t giving back to them.
They don’t have time to stay on top of their health and fitness, and miss the way they used to look and feel.
They have limited fun.
They have limited self-confidence.
And their certainty and enthusiasm for their practice dwindles.
Patients can feel this, and respond accordingly… causing your PVA to drop and new patients to ignore your recommendations.
We see this all the time, that is until our clients define success and create attainable goals from our success blueprint exercise.
